These are some of the people I’ve professionally worked with / currently work with on my commissioned projects, shows, online events, workshops, and all of the things I do. They’re what I consider The Shouting Mute team, and I couldn’t do what I do without them! I highly recommend each and every one of these amazing people
ÉILÍS BEVAN-DAVIS – Creative Collaborator
Éilís is a contemporary and devised theatre director. Currently artistic director of Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists, a nationally significant programme that seeks to level the playing field of under represented and marginalised performers in training.
Her freelance portfolio includes directing festivals, touring one act devised plays, clowning, training and access work. She is a Clore Emerging Leader alumni.
Éilís has been a key collaborator on multiple projects with The Shouting Mute since 2011. Éilís brings support, activism and laughter to the creative process, keeping everyone happy and hardworking, with an enthusiastic attitude that’s infectious! We can’t wait to work with her again!
JONATHAN LEITCH – Sound Designer

He Drums, Performs and Composes for Theatre and Circus shows with companies such as Diverse City, Cirque Bijou, Extraordinary Bodies and Graeae Theatre company.
Jonny has been essential to many of The Shouting Mute projects, designing soundscapes for outdoor installation projects such as Prose In The Park for Inside Out Dorset Festival, and composed, produced, mastered and engineered the soundtrack for Grow Up and Just Love Chocolate. All the lovely sounds you hear, are all credit to this musical genius! We can’t wait to work with him again!
ELANA BINYSH – Performing Artist, Stage Manager, and Project Co-ordinator
Elana is an interdisciplinary artist working across theatre, live art and sound art. Her work explores noise, melodrama, the fragility of memory and an autobiographical practice relating to queerness and invisible disability. It is loud and hopeful. Often it involves cumbersome costumes, complex live sound design and a maximalist aesthetic. Her current collaborations include work with Hot Cousin, Maisie Newman and Pavlos Christodoulou. She has taken work to the Prague Quadrennial, Pleasance Theatre and Bristol Old Vic.
Elana worked with The Shouting Mute as a project co-ordinator and stage manager on Grow Up and Just Love Chocolate, we’re not sure it would have all come together without her upbeat and enthusiastic attitude, or all the things she magically made happen! We can’t wait to work with her again!
LAURA DOBLE – Actor, Puppeteer, Podcaster & Workshop Facilitator
Laura is also Co-Artistic Director of the award winning Scratchworks Theatre Company, where she has co-created and performed in six nationally touring productions, including the feminist heist adventure Great Train Robbery, fantastic family show The Snow Beast, and their magic production of the witch trials of Bideford Hags: A Magical Extravaganza.
Laura has performed with Rogue Theatre in their immersive Christmas Show Winter Wood, she has worked as an actor and puppeteer with Little Angel Theatre in their Christmas Show Finding Santa, and the R+D of David Walliams’ The Slightly Annoying Elephant. She has toured nationally with Barmpot Theatre as a puppeteer in their e-safety show Penguinpig.
Laura is a performer we keep coming back to, thanks to her impressively committed work with The Shouting Mute as a deviser in the R+D of Grow up and Just Love Chocolate, and her beautifully improvised performances in our commissioned project Prose in The Park, at Inside Out Dorset Festival 2018. We can’t wait to work with her again!

Chris graduated from the Rose Bruford College, in 2017 having studied European Theatre Arts. He has a huge portfolio of acting and performance work on stage, in full-length and short films, in corporate settings, and site specific projects. Take it from us – he’s a brilliant actor, team player, and brings serious commitment to the roles and projects he works on.
Chris made an incredible impression performing in Grow Up and Just Love Chocolate, with a mesmerising and very animated performance that had the audience fully immersed in the show! She has graced the stages of the UK and abroad, in a variety of roles, performing at venues including The Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Piccolo Teatro Milano in Italy, where she played Juliet in an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, with Charioteer Theatre.
Zoe was essential to the R&D process of Grow Up and Just Love Chocolate, so it was no surprise that she was called upon again when the show toured theatres in 2019. Her comedic skill and unforgettable accents were a huge bonus on top of her adaptable approach, excellent improvisation, easy going, and hardworking attitude as a member of the team. We can’t wait to work with her again!

Adam is a graduate of East 15 Acting School. He has graced the stages of the UK and abroad, in a variety of roles, as well as tons of TV work including widely popular TV dramas such as Shallow Grave, Heartbeat, and Silent Witness.

SOPHIE FRETWELL – Set Designer & Scenographer
Sophie graduated Arts University Bournemouth’s Costume & Performance Design Degree, with First Class Honours and was presented with the Jean Hunisett Prize for Costume Design at Graduation. She has since completed a Masters in Animation Production, where she directed her own Stop Motion short, If the Shoe Fits, which combined live action and stop motion puppetry.
She has worked as a Costume Illustrator for BBC’s Good Omens (2019) and Number 9 Film’s The Limehouse Golem (2016). Impressive, right?
